Message from the Presidentposted: Monday, July 7, 2008JULY 4TH FUND RAISER UPDATE AND MANY THANKS Dear Members, Our July 4th Fund Raiser at Sandy Beach last Friday was huge success. We sold out all the barbeque pork, spring rolls and marinated sesame chicken. Of course, this fund raiser will not be a success without the volunteer members who gave their valuable time and support from food preparation, doing the set-up, cooking, selling and clean up. On behalf of the Officers and BoDs, my heartfelt appreciation to all volunteers and to all who supported the Association. The gross sales is $4954.00. Complete detail report will be provided during our next membership meeting. Reminder: Fil-Am Annual Family Picnic is this Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Auke Rec Large Shelter, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. This is a potluck event, Fil-Am will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, chips and rice. There will be a gas grill available at the picnic area. I suggest members to bring any of the following: salad (any kind, pasta, fruit, vegetable), fruits(watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, etc.), Filipino dish(es), chicken, desserts of any kind. Mark Your Calendar: Membership meeting - August 16, 2008 at Gruening Park Hall, Meeting from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Membership meeting - September 20, 2008 at Gruening Park Hall, Meeting from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Scholarship Fund Raiser and Dessert Auction - October 4, 2008, Saturday, at Tlingit and Haida Hall, Dinner start from: 5:00pm - 7:00pm. More information on a later date. Salamat, Benny 723-7055 Message from the Presidentposted: Tuesday, December 11, 2007Dear Members and Friends, We only have four more days and a wake up before the big event this Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Centennial Hall. All tickets for this event were sold out. There will be no tickets to be sold at the door. The only tickets available at the door are the reserved one. I recommend that you bring your tickets to get in, and please come early, since the Hispanic community are having their Christmas party at Natl Guard Armory (across from the Centennial Hall) on the same night for parking availability. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm (Catering by Felipe Ogoy of Wild Spice Restaurant) There will be program, and door prizes drawings throughout the night. Santa Claus to handed out gifts to children. Of course,Dance! Dance! Dance the night away. Attire for this event: Semi-formal Other note: There will be no general membership meeting in December. Next membership meeting Jan 19, 2008. Meeting will be from 6 - 9pm. Agenda: The upcoming combined Thanksgiving and Christmas Party on December 15, 2007 at Centennial Hall. Tickets for the party will be available at the meeting. This is a potluck event, however, Fil-Am will provide coffee, soda, hot dogs, chili and condiments. Door prizes drawings after the meeting, must be present to win. For Sale: Lumpia (shanghai style) ready to cook, while supply last. Proceed will go to Fil-Am general funds.
